المغترب السوري عبد الرحمن زيتون تحول الى بطل قومي في أمريكا لإنقاذه عشرات الأشخاص أثناء إعصار كاترينا تحقيقات
زيتون : لم أقدم سوى الواجب وما يمليه علي ضمير و والأخلاق التي تربيت عليها
أطلقت وسائل الإعلام الأمريكية على المغترب السوري عبد الرحمن زيتون بطل قومي للولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وبكل جدارة لما قام به من عمل بطولي أنقذ فيه عشرات الأمريكيين من الموت أثناء إعصار كاترينا.
ضرب الإعصار مدينة نيوأورلينز الواقعة على خليج المكسيك في ولاية لويزيانا، ولدور زيتون الاستثنائي في انقاذ حياة الناس، ومفارقة إقدام الشرطة على توقيفه للاشتباه به، كتبت عنه العديد من الصحف العالمية والأمريكية المحلية والتقت به محطات التلفزيونية الأمريكية والعربية وحصل على عدة شهادات تقدير من منظمات وجهات مختلفة، وألف عنه كاتب أمريكي كتاباً خاصاً وسماه "زيتون" ويتم الآن التحضير لإنتاج فيلم خاص عنه.
لمحة عن ابن جبله
وفي البداية لابد من إعطاء لمحة بسيطة عن عبد الرحمن زيتون ،الذي ولد في مدينة جبلة عام ، 1957 وهو أخ السباح العالمي محمد زيتون، عمل في جبلة وفي وقت مبكر من عمره بالبناء ثم سافر وعمل بحاراً على سفن يونانية منذ عام 1974، وفي عام 1988 حط رحاله في مدينة نيوأورلينز في مقاطعة لويزيانا في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وهناك عمل في المقاولات ، تزوج من أمريكية اسمها كاتي وأنجبت له طفلاً وثلاث بنات.
زيتون يصارع كاترينا
أثناء قدومه إلى مدينة جبلة منذ عدة أيام في زيارة إلى أهله وأقربائه إلتقت سيريانيوز زيتون وروى قصته مع إعصار كاترينا قائلا: "في البداية حذرت السلطات الأمريكية وأنذرت بقدوم إعصار قوي وخطير جداً مختلف عن الأعاصير السابقة التي كانت تضرب المنطقة ما أدى إلى مغادرة أغلبية سكان المنطقة إلى مناطق أخرى مجاورة، وكعادتي كما في الأعاصير السابقة قمت بترحيل زوجتي وأطفالي إلى منطقة أخرى حيث يعيش بعض الأقارب، وبقيت في المنزل وكنت قد تعودت على مواجهة الأعاصير خاصة وأن المنطقة التي أعيش فيها هي منطقة أعاصير، كذلك تعودت على المياه منذ طفولتي كوني ابن البحر حيث ولدت في المدينة الساحلية جبلة، كما اعتدت على ركوب الأمواج ومواجهة الرياح والأعاصير في عرض البحر كوني عملت سنوات طويلة بحاراً على متن بعض السفن التجارية".
ويتابع:" في اليوم الأول ومع بداية الإعصار ارتفع منسوب المياه نتيجة الأمطار الغزيرة في المدينة إلى ما يقارب 70سم ،لكن الإعصار هذه المرة كان أقوى بكثير من سابقيه حيث بلغت سرعة الرياح ما يقارب 250 كم بالساعة ،ما أدى إلى انهيار أحد السدود القريبة، والذي سبب بغمر المدينة بالمياه بارتفاع يتراوح بين المترين والثلاثة أمتار، واضطررت لنقل أهم محتويات المنزل إلى الطابق الثاني لحمايتها من التلف.
إنقاذ العشرات
وفي اليوم الثاني وبعد مرور الإعصار واستقرار المياه رحت أتجول في شوارع المدينة لكن بقارب صغير اشتريته سابقاً، وكانت المياه غمرت أغلب المنازل في الطابق الأول.
وأشار بأنه خلال جولاته أنقذ العشرات من الأمريكيين الذين اضطروا للبقاء ولم يستطيعوا المغادرة لأسباب مختلفة وخاصة كبار السن والذين ليس لديهم مكان آخر يذهبون إليه‘ كما قام بإيصال العديد منهم إلى المشافي والملاجئ ونقاط الإنقاذ الطبية التي لم تغمرها المياه ،وكذلك عمل على إحضار المساعدات الطبية والطعام ومياه الشرب لبعض السكان المحجوزين في الطوابق العليا وكانت قد نفذت لديهم المؤن والمياه وقطعت الكهرباء عنهم،لا سيما وأن رجال الشرطة والإنقاذ لم يحضروا إلى المنطقة إلا باليوم الثالث بعد الإعصار.
ويذكر عبد الرحمن" أنه في اليوم الرابع كان أحد قوارب الشرطة يتجول في المنطقة وبرفقته كاميرا لأحد الفضائيات تنقل الأحداث بشكل مباشر وعندما شاهدني أهالي المنطقة بدأت تنهال الاتصالات علي للاطمئنان على ممتلكاتهم ومنازلهم وطلب البعض منهم إنقاذ حيواناتهم التي علقت في المنازل، فقمت بمساعدتها وقدمت لها الطعام بشكل يومي" .
واستمر زيتون وعلى مدى أسبوع كامل في التجوال بقاربه في شوارع المدينة لمد يد العون والمساعدة لمن يحتاج وقال: "كنت أقطع يومياً أكثر من 25كم بقاربي ، وكنت خلال جولاتي أتقاسم الطعام والمياه مع السكان الذين اضطروا للبقاء في منازلهم.
المفاجأة
ويروي عبد الرحمن" أن المفاجأة كانت في اليوم السابع بينما كنت في المنزل مع أحد المواطنين من أصل سوري من طرطوس، جئت به للعيش معي ريثما تنحسر المياه التي غمرت كامل منزله، اقترب قارب للجيش الأمريكي وعلى متنه سبعة مسلحين بالسلاح الكامل من منزلي وسألوني ماذا أفعل هنا، فأجبتهم بأنه منزلي لم يصدقوني وطلبوا أوراقي الثبوتية، وعندما رأوا اسمي العربي بدت عليهم ملامح وكأنهم اكتشفوا خليه إرهابية ،حاولت إحضار ورقة سجلت عليها بعض الأرقام الهاتفية، لقموا السلاح وهددوني بإطلاق النار مع أقل حركة، قيدونا وأخذونا بفان مغلق إلى محطة باصات وقطار للنقل الخارجي للركاب سيطر عليها الجيش وحولها إلى مركز عمليات وأعدت على عجل كي تكون مركز اعتقال مؤقتة (حيث بات هناك حالة من الفوضى و كثرت في ذلك الحين عمليات السرقة والنهب والقتل )، ووضعنا في أقفاص حديدية شبيهة بسجن غوانتناموا مع العشرات من المعتقلين ، وهذه المحطة كانت مليئة بالأوساخ وتفوح منها روائح المازوت والزيت وتنبعث منها روائح مقرفة".
كانت التحقيقات مستمرة وتضمنت اتهامات خطيرة والانتماء إلى خلايا إرهابية تتعامل مع القاعدة، وأحس خلالها عبد الرحمن بأن الأمور تذهب إلى منزلقات خطيرة .
ورغم التحقيقات التي أجراها رجال امن الدولة وأكدوا سلامة موقف عبد الرحمن ورفيقه إلا أن الجيش لم يطلق سراحهم، وتم تحويلهم إلى السجن الرسمي للمعتقلين ذوي الأحكام الثقيلة والمجرمين الخطرين.
إطلاق سراحه
ويقول عبد الرحمن :"ثم قامت عناصر من الـ( إف بي آي) ومن الـ( سي آي إيه) بالتحقيق معنا وأكدت أنه لا يوجد علينا أي شيء ، وطلبت من أحدهم الاتصال بزوجتي لأنها منذ أن تم اعتقالي لا تعلم عني شيء ووعد أنه سيفعل لكنه لم يتصل إلا بعد مرور ثلاثة أسابيع، وعندما علمت زوجتي بمكاني مباشرة قامت بتوكيل محامي للبحث عني والقيام بالإجراءات لإخراجي من السجن، وواجه المحامي الكثير من الصعوبات للعثور علينا حيث لم يكن هناك أي سجلات تثبت وجودنا في ذلك المعتقل .
وأشار عبد الرحمن:" بأن إدارة المعتقل قامت بمحاكمة ميدانية ضمن السجن وطلبوا كفالة 75 ألف دولار، ولم أستطع تأمينها لأن المدينة تحولت إلى ما يشبه الخراب ولا يوجد فيها أي بنوك تعمل ولذلك فضلت البقاء بالسجن لأنه بالقانون لا يحق لهم الاعتقال أكثر من شهرين، وبعد شهر تم إطلاق سراحي بضمانة محلي التجاري وتم تحويلي إلى المحكمة، وبعدها قامت المحكمة بإسقاط كل التهم التي كانت وجهت إلي ، حيث أدلى بعض الذين أنقذتهم بشهادات أكدت بأني كنت أقوم بإنقاذ الناس".
ويضيف عبد الرحمن: "رفعنا دعوى على الحكومة الأمريكية بسبب سوء المعاملة أثناء فترة الاعتقال ومازالت مستمرة حتى الآن".
زيتون والإعلام
وبعد خروجه من السجن كتبت إحدى الصحف المحلية " تايمز سبيك نيوز " في نيوأولينز ونشرت القصة على الانترنيت ، ثم قام بعض الكتاب المحليين بكتابة كتب عن تجربة إعصار كاترينا بشكل عام مثل كتاب" صوت العاصفة"و" الكارثة العالمية" وكتب أخرى عديدة احتوت قصص وحكايات لأشخاص في فترة الإعصار ومن بينها قصة عبد الرحمن زيتون.
ويقول عبد الرحمن:" بعد سماعه بقصتي اتصل الكاتب الأمريكي المشهور ديف ايغرز وقال بأن قصتي مؤثرة ويريد إيصالها إلى عموم الشعب الأمريكي ولذلك قرر تأليف كتابة عن حياتي، و من أجل ذلك أتى إلى جبلة سنة 2006 والتقى بأهلي للحصول على معلومات وتفاصيل عن حياتي وحياة أفراد أسرتي منذ ولادتي والواقع الذي كنت أعيش به قبل السفر إلى أمريكا وذهب أيضاً إلى أخي القبطان أحمد زيتون في إسبانيا ليستكمل بعض المعلومات، واستغرق إنجاز الكتاب ثلاث سنوات وسماه "زيتون".
شهادات تقدير
وقال عبد الرحمن:" أخذ الكتاب "زيتون" أبعاداً هائلة ونجاحاً كبيراً لم أكن أتوقعه أبداً ، وحصل الكاتب على العديد من الجوائز والعديد من شهادات التقدير، وطلبت بعض الجامعات بقراءة الكتاب واعتبرته من أفضل عشرة كتب صدرت مؤخراً في أمريكا. وقدمت الإعلامية الأمريكية المشهورة في برنامجها المسمى باسمها"اوبرا" عن الكتاب مشيرة بأنه من أفضل 6 كتب خلال السنوات العشر الأخيرة في أمريكا ".
وقامت العديد من المنظمات في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بتكريمه ، وكان آخرها المعهد العربي – الأمريكي( ويرأسه جيمس الزغبي) في واشنطن حيث أقام في 22 نيسان الماضي حفلاً كبيراً بمناسبة الذكرى السنوية لتأسيس المعهد كرم فيه عدد من الشخصيات الأمريكية الذين جسدوا بعملهم وقيمهم معاني "روح الإنسانية" ومن بينهم عبد الرحمن زيتون، وحضرت سوزان رايس ممثلة أمريكا بالأمم المتحدة وألقت بالنيابة كلمة للرئيس باراك أوباما، شكرت فيها زيتون على العمل البطولي الذي قام به،وحضر الحفل العديد من سفراء دول العالم ومن بينهم سفير سورية عماد مصطفى. كما أقام السفير السوري حفل تكريم في السفارة السورية على شرف عبد الرحمن زيتون.
فيلم خاص عن زيتون
وكانت العديد من الصحف يونانية وأخرى برازيلية وصحيفة نيويورك تايمز و الغارديان ومجلة بيبول ماغزين (التي تكتب عن الشخصيات المشهورة في العالم) وغيرها قد كتبت عن قصته وأجرت معه مقابلات ، كذلك التقت به قناة الحرة الفضائية وقناة الجزيرة في برنامج للقصة بقية سيبث قريباً ، كما خصصت الـCNN حلقة للحديث عن قصته وعن كتاب"زيتون"، وهناك العديد من وسائل الإعلام التي كتبت عنه لكن لا مجال لذكرها.
ترجم الكتاب " زيتون " إلى اللغات : الإيطالية والبرتغالية والألمانية وحالياً يترجم في الأردن إلى العربية، كما تم الاتفاق مع الكاتب لترجمته إلى 23 لغة أخرى .
وحتى الآن يستغرب عبد الرحمن زيتون الشهرة التي وصل إليها فهو يرى أنه لم يقدم سوى الواجب وما يمليه عليه ضميره والأخلاق التي تربى عليها في مساعدة الآخرين عند الحاجة.

الديناصورات الضخمة آکلة العشب تميل لابتلاع طعامها

هامبورج 7 حزيران/يونيو (د ب أ)- على عکس الثدييات , کانت الديناصورات الضخمة آکلة العشب تميل لابتلاع طعامها کما هو دون مضغ, شانها في ذلک شأن الطيور.
وقد تفسر تلک النظرية التي خلص اليها فريق من الباحثين الألمان , سرتمتع ديناصور مثل برونتوصوروص الذي کان وزنه يصل الى مئة طن برقبة طويلة ورؤوس ضئيلة نسبيا مقارنة بحجمه.
وحتى الآن يسود اعتقاد بأن الطيور تبتلع طعامها کاملا دون مضغ, وذلک لتجنب أي هجوم من قبل الضواري المفترسة. وفيما قد يکون ذلک حقيقيا بشکل جزئي, فان الشواهد الجديدة تشير الى أنها تتبع في تلک العادة الغذائية أسلافها من الديناصورات العملاقة , التي کانت تلتهم کميات هائلة من الغذاء بأسرع وقت ممکن فقط کي تبقى على قيد الحياة بحسب استنتاجات العلماء.
ان الفيلة والحيوانات المعاصرة الضخمة التي تأکل وتمضغ کميات ضخمة, تحتاج لرؤوس ضخمة تتسع لعضلات الفکين والضروس. غير ان الحيوان الذي يبتلع طعامه دون مضغه ليس بحاجة لهذا الرأس الضخم.
وساعدت الرقبة الطويلة الدياناصورات الضخمة في الحصول على الغذاء دون الحاجة للتحرک من موقع ما , وهو عنصر من شأنه أيضا توفير الوق. وفيما تحتاج الفيلة لقضاء 18 ساعة في تناول الطعام لارضاء شهيتها, فان الديناصورات العملاقة کانت ستحتاج الى 30 ساعة يوميا -وهو المستحيل بعينه طبعا-اذا کانت تتناول طعامها بالطريقة المعتادة, والمتمثلة في مضغ الطعام قبل ابتلاعه.
ويعتقد الباحثون أن الديناصورات تغلبت على مشکلة الوقت تلک بابتلاع طعامها ليصل المعدة في أسرع وقت ممکن.
وقال العلماء الألمان ان جزءا ثابتا من النظام الغذائي لدى الديناصورات کان يتمثل في أکل النباتات ذات الأوراق الطويلة الخشنة التي تشبه ذيل الحصان والتي کانت متوفرة بکثرة في مستنقعات ما قبل التاريخ , والتي کانت تتمتع بقيمة غذائية مرتفعة للغاية. عدد محدود من الحيوانات الآن يميل لتناول هذا النوع من النباتات , ذلک لاحتوائها على الکثير من مربات السيليکا المعدنية والتي تضر الأسنان.
غير أن تلک المشکلة لم تکن تعني شيئا للديناصورات التي کانت تبتلع النبات دون مضغ. بالاضافة الى أنه معروف عن فصيلة الصربوديات-ضرب من الديناصورات-أنها کانت تجدد أسنانها بشکل متواتر , وأحيانا مرة کل شهر.
,يعتقد الباحثون أن أحشاء الديناصور الضخمة والقوية ساعدته ولا شک في التعامل مع هذه الکميات الهائلة من الطعام غير الممضوغ.

A critical Look
Everyone is curious to know what exactly happened in Iran on the day of Ashura. The friends and well wishers are concerned and the enemies and those who harbor grudge are happy. Here we desire to have a look at the ongoing events in Iran and briefly cast a glance on the background of these events.
Violation of sanctity of the day of Ashura
These sad events started on the morning of the day of Ashura when lovers of Imam Hussein (as) were all busy in mourning for the tragedy of Karbala across Tehran. The day whose sanctity is respected by all the people around the world and for Muslims in general and the followers of Ahlul Bait (as) in particular it is a day of mourning. However for a small group of people about whose identity we will speak soon it was a day of clapping, whistling and going on a rampage across the city.
Who are these people?
Identity of these people is well known from the kind of clothes they wear1 and the kind of things they speak. The identity of these people can be defined with the help of following attributes,
1. They have sold themselves to the Western ideals, culture and lifestyle
2. They have a strange kind of hatred for Islam
3. They do not respect any of the Islamic values and sanctities
4. They are a tool in the hands of the enemies and their proxy inside Iran
5. They prefer Shah (monarchy) over Islamic governance
6. They desire good relations with the leading oppressors of the world, viz. US and Israel
7. They prefer Nationalism over Islamic concept of one Islamic Ummah ( and hence they hate Arabs)
8. They do not like that Iran is supporting Islamic movements across the world.
Needless to say that these people have these qualities in varying amounts and not all are same. Some
people show some of these qualities more intensely than others.
But the important point that is worthy of attention is that the number of such people is few and this
group has existed since the Islamic Revolu4on in 1979 and mainly such people are to be found mostly in

Tehran which is the center of cultural attack from the West. Otherwise the people of Iran respect Islam and majority of them prefer Islamic governance over any other form.
However the Western (or should I say Zionist!) media is trying to portray that “hundreds of thousands of people are on the streets!”2, “this is like a second revolution in Iran”3 and was busy fabricating many such similar stories.
What did they do?
Now let us have a look at what these people were doing on the day of Ashura. The day on which everyone in Iran was busy mourning for Imam Hussein (as).
1. Clapping and whistling on the day of Ashura
Some of these people were clapping and whistling in order to cheer other rioters who were
setting the public property on fire on the day of Ashura.

2. Attack on the mourners of Imam Hussein and efforts to disrupt mourning ceremonies
The mourners of Imam Hussein (as) were attacked by these rioters. The following is an interview with one of the mourners who became a victim of the attack.

3. Burning and destruction of property
These people went on a rioting across the city setting vehicles, banks, shops and public property on fire.

How many people died? How did they die?
In these unfortunate events according to the official reports 7 people lost their lives. The details of which were provided by Iranian news outlets.

But a more important question is how did these people die? The causes of death included stabbing to death, throwing from the bridge, being hit by a vehicle, some unknown causes and gunshots. Two of the eight people were killed by gunshots.
The chief of police in Tehran said no weapon was used against the rioters. The police and the anti-riot police are only allowed to carry batons and the Police used tear gas and pepper sprays to disperse the rioters.
Also during the same period time ten people affiliated to the terrorist organization MKO were arrested in Tehran4 and the Police gave a possibility that those who were killed with gunshots were killed by the terrorists.
Accusation on the Police
But the Western media claimed without providing any proof that police had opened fire on the rioters. This accusation was repeated in the media across the whole world. None of these media outlets provided any proof for their claim. Please see some examples here,

The entire news item does not mention anything about police opening fire on protestors. Only towards the end the report says, ‘Police in Tehran say they were investigating the "suspicious" deaths’
2. Time: Police opened fire on an anti-government demonstration commemorating the Shi'ite holiday.

Two lies in one line. Firstly police were not carrying weapons and so could not open fire and secondly the demonstrators were not commemorating Shi’ite holiday but rather they were

a demonstration in Tehran killing at least four people, according to witnesses,’
It is ironical that the police and the innocent people who were busy mourning were beaten up, stabbed, hit by stones by rioters but the Western media tried to portray as if the police and the people had attacked those who stood for “democracy” and “freedom.”
How come these people dared to do these things on the day of Ashura?
But a more important question that must be asked is: In the past these people never dared to carry out such acts but this year and that too on the day of Ashura who encouraged them to commit these acts?
The answer to these questions should be searched in the events that started 6 month ago aRer the Presiden4al elec4ons (June 2009). A group of people from the poli4cal spectrum in Iran aRer seeing that they have lost the elections under the pretext that there was fraud in the elections started an unnecessary conflict. They were invited many times by the government officials to provide proof and to stop this conflict. But they went on with it. As a result slowly all the enemies who desired to harm the Islamic Republic of Iran entered this group because this provided them a platform to carry out their destructive activities.
Unfortunately the leaders of this so called “Green” movement did not do anything to distance themselves from these Islam haters and enemies of Islamic Governance. So much so that these people using the same “Green” banner came out on the day of Ashura and committed what they committed.
However it is necessary to make a clear distinction between these two groups:
1. The group of political figures (that is the leaders of this so called “Green” movement) and theirm supporters who - intentionally or not - prepared the grounds for enemies of Islam and Islamic Governance to break the sanctities of Islam.
2. The group of Westernized misguided people who hate Islam and anything related to Islam and who saw this as a good opportunity to carry out their destructive activities.
But this should also be kept in mind that if the leaders of this so called “Green” movement do not clearly distance themselves from these rioters and Islam haters they will be considered as part of them and they will be responsible for whatever has taken place or will take place.
Reaction of the people inside Iran
Those who are living in Iran or they watch the news channels broadcasted from Iran like PressTV, IRINN, etc are well aware that people in Iran are angry at what happened on the day of Ashura. They have all united to express their hatred towards these people who violated the sanctity of Imam Hussein and Ashura. How strange it was to see all the enemies of humanity, murderers, those guilty of genocides united together to support rioters in Tehran. You could see smile and happiness on their faces. From Obama in US to David Miliband in UK, from France to Germany all were voicing their support for the people who violated the sanctity of the day of Ashura. 5 It is a group of more than 80 Mujtahids (Ayatullas) that appoints and monitors the Vali e Faqih 6 Known as Ja’ame e Mudarriseen

These events were utilized to its fullest by the media across the world. From English channels in the
West to the Arab channels in the Middle East everyone was trying to exaggerate the events and make it appear as if “a revolution” is on its way in Iran.
We cannot expect the enemy to be sympathetic towards us and expect that they be fair in their reporting and that they do not lie and twist these events to their benefit. The sad part is that we ourselves fall prey to their propaganda and sometimes we have more faith in their reporting than in Qu’ran. Qu’ran clearly and explicitly says, “O you who believe! if an evil-doer comes to you with a report, look carefully into it, lest you harm a people in ignorance, then be sorry for what you have done.”7
This does not mean to say that whatever they say is wrong. But it means that when you read any news or opinion from the Western sources at least make sure that you verify its correctness several times from other sources before you believe in it or spread it to others.
All the enemies unite against Vilayat e Faqih
Another important thing that is worthy of attention is that the enemies through some excuse are turning the direction of their attack towards Vilayat e Faqih. Any small problem happens in Iran and you see the enemies blaming it on Vilayat e Faqih.
If we carefully study the analysis, the blogs, the editorials written in the Western media on this issue we will see that the direction of their attack is on Vilayat e Faqih. This is because the enemy is more aware than us of the importance of Vilayat e Faqih in the system of Islamic Governance. Also it for the very same reason those who are opposed to Vilayat e Faqih are given coverage in the Western media and they are glorified in the Western media as the champions of “Democracy” and “Freedom”.

What is our duty?
Usually we all play the role of bystander in these conflicts. This mostly is due to lack of proper information or not knowing what is the responsibility in such situation. However it is possible for us to play a more proactive role in these issues.

Spread hope not despair
The first reaction that some friends and sympathizers show at such events is panic and loss of hope.
They think that everything is over, Iran is destroyed, the revolution is gone, etc. and they spread this despair and hopelessness to others. But the truth of the matter is that the revolution is stronger than it has been in any time before. With the able leadership, well equipped armed forces, thousands and thousands of young and old people who are standing firmly behind the leadership and who are ready to give their lives for Islam, Iran is far from being weak. This does not mean that there are no problems inside Iran and everything in Iran is perfect. Yes, there are problems in Iran that should be addressed and taken care of. But is it fair that instead of trying to correct the shortcomings of the Islamic System we go on criticizing and as a result weakening the Islamic System. But rahter we should always have a balanced and positive outlook.
Do not fall for the enemy propaganda
This probably is the biggest challenge for those who live outside Iran and are constantly bombarded with different kinds of Western (or equivalently Zionist) media outlets.
The solution to this issue that we should develop a critical look at all that is being fed to us. We should try to verify news from different sources and we should try to look for contradictions.
Apart from this our only source of information should not be the main stream media. There are some other media outlets that provide a more critical and realistic picture about the ongoing events but unfortunately these websites are not very well known and not many people refer to it.

Have Husn e Zann (Good opinion) about the believers
It has been seen many times that whenever any news is published by a source that is connected to Iran or other believers there are people people say, “Oh these people are biased. You cannot trust them.” Or they say, “Ah these people are controlled by the government.” But on the contrary when any news is published by BBC (which is also affiliated to British Government) or some other similar such news outlet we tend to believe them without any questioning or doubt.
This is exactly opposite of what Islam has ordered us. It has ordered us to have good opinion about believers and accept their testimony about events unless if we have clear proof against them. Also Islam has ordered us that when an evil-doer comes to you with any news you should not accept it unless you have verified it. Again I would like to refer to the verse of the Holy Qu’ran that explicitly says, “O you who believe! if an evil-doer comes to you with a report, look carefully into it, lest you harm a people in ignorance, then be sorry for what you have done.”8

A critical Look
Everyone is curious to know what exactly happened in Iran on the day of Ashura. The friends and well wishers are concerned and the enemies and those who harbor grudge are happy. Here we desire to have a look at the ongoing events in Iran and briefly cast a glance on the background of these events.
Violation of sanctity of the day of Ashura
These sad events started on the morning of the day of Ashura when lovers of Imam Hussein (as) were all busy in mourning for the tragedy of Karbala across Tehran. The day whose sanctity is respected by all the people around the world and for Muslims in general and the followers of Ahlul Bait (as) in particular it is a day of mourning. However for a small group of people about whose identity we will speak soon it was a day of clapping, whistling and going on a rampage across the city.
Who are these people?
Identity of these people is well known from the kind of clothes they wear1 and the kind of things they speak. The identity of these people can be defined with the help of following attributes,
1. They have sold themselves to the Western ideals, culture and lifestyle
2. They have a strange kind of hatred for Islam
3. They do not respect any of the Islamic values and sanctities
4. They are a tool in the hands of the enemies and their proxy inside Iran
5. They prefer Shah (monarchy) over Islamic governance
6. They desire good relations with the leading oppressors of the world, viz. US and Israel
7. They prefer Nationalism over Islamic concept of one Islamic Ummah ( and hence they hate Arabs)
8. They do not like that Iran is supporting Islamic movements across the world.
Needless to say that these people have these qualities in varying amounts and not all are same. Some
people show some of these qualities more intensely than others.
But the important point that is worthy of attention is that the number of such people is few and this
group has existed since the Islamic Revolu4on in 1979 and mainly such people are to be found mostly in

Tehran which is the center of cultural attack from the West. Otherwise the people of Iran respect Islam and majority of them prefer Islamic governance over any other form.
However the Western (or should I say Zionist!) media is trying to portray that “hundreds of thousands of people are on the streets!”2, “this is like a second revolution in Iran”3 and was busy fabricating many such similar stories.
What did they do?
Now let us have a look at what these people were doing on the day of Ashura. The day on which everyone in Iran was busy mourning for Imam Hussein (as).

setting the public property on fire on the day of Ashura.

How many people died? How did they die?
In these unfortunate events according to the official reports 7 people lost their lives. The details of which were provided by Iranian news outlets.

But a more important question is how did these people die? The causes of death included stabbing to death, throwing from the bridge, being hit by a vehicle, some unknown causes and gunshots. Two of the eight people were killed by gunshots.
The chief of police in Tehran said no weapon was used against the rioters. The police and the anti-riot police are only allowed to carry batons and the Police used tear gas and pepper sprays to disperse the rioters.
Also during the same period time ten people affiliated to the terrorist organization MKO were arrested in Tehran4 and the Police gave a possibility that those who were killed with gunshots were killed by the terrorists.
Accusation on the Police
But the Western media claimed without providing any proof that police had opened fire on the rioters. This accusation was repeated in the media across the whole world. None of these media outlets provided any proof for their claim. Please see some examples here,

Two lies in one line. Firstly police were not carrying weapons and so could not open fire and secondly the demonstrators were not commemorating Shi’ite holiday but rather they were

It is ironical that the police and the innocent people who were busy mourning were beaten up, stabbed, hit by stones by rioters but the Western media tried to portray as if the police and the people had attacked those who stood for “democracy” and “freedom.”
How come these people dared to do these things on the day of Ashura?
But a more important question that must be asked is: In the past these people never dared to carry out such acts but this year and that too on the day of Ashura who encouraged them to commit these acts?
The answer to these questions should be searched in the events that started 6 month ago aRer the Presiden4al elec4ons (June 2009). A group of people from the poli4cal spectrum in Iran aRer seeing that they have lost the elections under the pretext that there was fraud in the elections started an unnecessary conflict. They were invited many times by the government officials to provide proof and to stop this conflict. But they went on with it. As a result slowly all the enemies who desired to harm the Islamic Republic of Iran entered this group because this provided them a platform to carry out their destructive activities.
Unfortunately the leaders of this so called “Green” movement did not do anything to distance themselves from these Islam haters and enemies of Islamic Governance. So much so that these people using the same “Green” banner came out on the day of Ashura and committed what they committed.
However it is necessary to make a clear distinction between these two groups:
1. The group of political figures (that is the leaders of this so called “Green” movement) and theirm supporters who - intentionally or not - prepared the grounds for enemies of Islam and Islamic Governance to break the sanctities of Islam.
2. The group of Westernized misguided people who hate Islam and anything related to Islam and who saw this as a good opportunity to carry out their destructive activities.
But this should also be kept in mind that if the leaders of this so called “Green” movement do not clearly distance themselves from these rioters and Islam haters they will be considered as part of them and they will be responsible for whatever has taken place or will take place.

لقد اختار أوباما أن يكون خطابه للعالم الإسلامي كمبشر بالديمقراطية من القاهرة، عاصمة أكثر الدول قمعاً واستبداداً، ولم يخطر في باله أن يطالب النظام المصري بالسماح بالحرية الدينية وإطلاق سراح سجناء الرأي، وإلغاء قانون الطوارئ الذي يحظر النشاط السياسي في البلاد. في خطابه نسي أوباما أنه يخاطب العالم الإسلامي وأطلق العنان لنفسه ليتحدث عن "حق" الكيان الإسرائيلي و"مظلوميته التاريخية"، وذكر بضحايا الأفران النازية من اليهود، متجاهلاً المذابح التي ارتكبها جيش الإحتلال الإسرائيلي بحق الآلاف من الفلسطينيين في غزة، وكأنه يخاطب عالماً إسلامياً جاهلاً، وتطرق أيضاً لحريات الأديان، متجاهلاً أن بلاده تقف في المقدمة في نشر العلمانية وقمع الأديان وتوجيه تهم الإرهاب لكل من تسول له نفسه أن يقف في وجه سياساتها "التبشيرية".
التاريخ الأمريكي تناسى المجزرة التي ارتكبتها الشرطة الفيدرالية بتأييد من الحكومة الأمريكية آنذاك عام 1993 في واكو بولاية تكساس الامريكية، عندما قامت بقمع حركة دينية بزعامة ديفيد كوريش تسمى الداووديون ،وقامت بارتكاب مجزرة إبادة جماعية بحق كل أفرادها في حادثة يندى لها جبين الديمقراطية الأمريكية. وكان ذلك في عهد الرئيس بيل كلينتون، لتقوم بعدها بنشر شائعة عبر وسائل الإعلام " الحرة" بأن كوريش تسبب بقتل 74 شخصاً من أتباعه.
والطائفة الداوودية تنسب إلى النبي داوود(ع)، وهي فرع من المسيحية البروتستنتية، تأسست عام 1955م وقامت على أسس إصلاحية، وبشرت بنهاية العالم وبظهور السيد المسيح (ع) ليقيم العدل فيها، ولم يكن لها نشاط سياسي يذكر، واتهمتها الشرطة الفيدرالية آنذاك بالتخطيط لعمليات إرهابية وحيازتها أسلحة غير مرخصة، وكانت الجماعة تتخذ من كنيسة في واكو مكاناً لنشاطها الديني. وذكرت هيئات لحقوق الإنسان أنه في 28 من شباط من العام 2003 م قامت طائرات تابعة لقوات البي اي تي إف BATF (للهيئة المركزية للكحول والتبغ والأسلحة النارية) بشن غارات على التجمع الذي يشمل كنيسة وبعض البيوت المحيطة به، شبهتها بهجمات الجيش الأمريكي على القرى في حرب الفيتنام، وبعد ذلك تولى الجيش الأمريكي والشرطة الفيدرالية FBI (الإف بي آي) مهام محاصرة المنطقة مدة 51 يوماً، وحدث اشبتاك بين أفراد المجموع وعناصر الجيش تسبب بمقتل ستة من الجماعة الدينية وثلاثة من عناصر الجيش، في ذلك اليوم وافقت وزارة العدل على استخدام القوات لقنابل غازية سامة من نوع CS ضد أفراد الطائفة المحاصرين، عندها أعلن زعيمها ديفيد كوريش بأنه في صدد تسليم نفسه قبل أن ترتكب القوات أي حماقة، إلا أنها لم تنتظر وقامت في 19 نيسان بالهجوم على المنطقة وكانت على علم بوجود عشرات الأطفال والنساء، ونفذت هجوماً واسعاً مثل الضربة القاضية برمي قنابل غازCS ما أدى إلى اشتعال النار وأقدمت الدبابات على إحداث فجوات كبيرة في جدران البيوت للسماح للهواء بالدخول لإحداث حرائق أكبر ضمن الأبنية المشتعلة، ما أدى إلى احتراقها بالكامل. الحادثة تسببت بمقتل كل من كان هناك وهم 74 شخصاً من بينهم 12 طفلاً تحت سن الخمس سنوات وعشرات النساء.
لم تعط الحكومة الأمريكية آنذاك الفرصة للداووديين للدفاع عن أنفسهم، ولو فعلت ذلك وأدانت المجموعة، لكانت أقسى العقوبات التي يمكن أن تتخذ بحقهم هي السجن، إلا أن الحرية الدينية التي يرفعها العم سام شعاراً له ليست سوى لتحقيق مصالحه في دعم طوائف على حساب أخرى، وبث الفتن الطائفية في بلدان العالم والقضاء على أي لحمة دينية قد يشهدها بلد تؤدي إلى صحوة فكرية ودينية تضعف نفوذه في تلك الدولة، ناهيك عن الإحتلال المباشر لدول إسلامية. وقد كرس العم سام منطق الحرية الدينية القائم على المحورية، بمعنى أن أمريكا هي المحور وعلى كل الأطراف والأديان والطوائف أن تدور في فلكها، وكل من يتعدى هذا الفضاء فهو خارج من رحمتها ومطرود من جنتها، فأمريكا تحسب نفسها "إله الحريات والديمقراطية"، ورؤساؤها هم "أنبياؤها". لقد قال الأمريكيون " نحن دعاة ديمقراطية وسلام في أرجاء العالم"، وقالت الشعوب" حيثما تجد مشكلة أو أزمة في العالم فتش عن أيادي أمريكية".
